Riverdale actor Cole Sprouse asked for the role of outcast

When Cole Sprouse was invited to audition for the lead role in Riverdale, he himself asked for a smaller role as an outcast.
“I said that’s more my style,” the 27-year-old actor, who plays Jughead in Riverdale, tells Variety. “During my audition, I talked as Rod Serling,” he refers to the presenter of The Twilight Zone.
Although the role of Jughead was initially not that great, the producers of Riverdale Sprouse decided to give more text after they saw how he did it.
The actor, who already appeared with his twin brother Dylan in the Disney series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody at a young age, says he is enjoying himself on the Riverdale set for the time being. He owes this role to his manager, who persuaded him to act again after studying archaeology at New York University.
“I was busy with artefacts when I received a call from my manager. She begged me to act again. I promised her that I would hold on to a successful audition. That’s how I ended up at Riverdale.”
