Huawei Presents Foldable Smartphone Mate X
Huawei has presented its first foldable smartphone on Sunday: the Mate X. The device consists of two screens that can be folded into one screen, with which the Mate X can also be used as a tablet.
The screen at the front is 6.6 inches with a resolution of 2480 x 1148 pixels. At the back is the second screen of 6.38 inches of 2480 x 892 pixels. The two screens together provide a collapsed smartphone with a thickness of 11 millimetres.
The two screens can be folded together into one 8.0 inch screen with a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels. Huawei says that no fold lines are visible in the screen. When unfolded, the device has a thickness of 5.4 millimetres. The smartphone is also equipped with a 4.500 mAh battery and supports fast charging technology.
According to Huawei, the Mate X can be charged for 85 per cent in thirty minutes. More details about the Mate X Huawei has not announced yet.
Samsung also announced earlier this week its first foldable phone, the Galaxy Fold. The phone has a 7.3-inch screen on the inside and 4.6 inches on the outside. That phone will be released later this year.
