European Commission offers Hackers Money for Reporting Data Leaks
The European Commission (EC) is going to offer money to noble hackers who publish leaks in free software.
The so-called ‘bug bounty program’ starts in January. Many companies and government agencies already have such programs.
Also, hackers get money when they report a software leak in an accountable manner to the makers.
In the case of the European Commission it is not about software from the EC itself, but about open source programs used by civil servants. That is software that is offered for free by the makers.
