Chief of Staff of Venezuelan Opposition Leader Juan Guaido arrested
The intelligence service of the country has arrested an important employee of the Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido. It’s about his chief of staff Roberto Marrero.
According to Guaido, agents of the intelligence service raided the homes of two employees in the capital Caracas early in the morning. Besides Marrero, legal adviser Sergio Vergara was also the target.
The opposition leader announced this via Twitter. Marrero was taken, but Vergara remained free.
Guaido has previously declared himself an interim president. To the great anger of the current head of state Nicolas Maduro, he is recognised in that position by dozens of countries, including the Netherlands.
